I LOVE setting goals and doing all the things THEY say but...I've also found that the coolest bits of my life have happened totally by surprise (as if my magic!)

I do actually love the goal setting and re-launching that comes with a new season, but it turns out that the timing or the mood doesn't always hit in the ways I would like, so it's helpful to understand that sometimes I can go with a different flow...there are all kinds of ways :)

I love the idea of the beginning of the year as an "on-ramp," with time to wonder and wait! My goals and vision board are still a messy work in progress.

“Try January.” I love that.

So lovely Stephanie. I really like your sentiments here, and a slow, waiting, wondering, accepting approach to the New Year. I like how I don’t have to be the change all at once! That process has never worked for me. So I’ll continue on embracing my snail! Thanks for the reminder.

A beautifully articulated slow ramp entry to the year. Wishing you a perfectly paced 2025. Thank you for mentioning my last piece too ❤️

I meant to tell you - it really struck a chord with me. Progress is such a double-edged idea sometimes if we aren't generous with our definitions!

I love the idea of 'try January'. Here in Oz it's also summer, so January feels lazy and hazy. Setting goals is hard when the beach calls. Some years, I fight against it. This year, I'm relaxing into letting go. I'm often too goal oriented, which can stifle creativity. My challenge to myself is that I've booked a writing retreat for first week of February with NO IDEA of what I'll be writing. Blank page, empty mind. I'm keen to see what comes of the week.
